Spike by Ike GPS is a great measuring tool that can save you time. You can download the app for Free and is very accurate. If you buy the laser that attaches to the back of your phone or tablet, it will measure the distance you are from the object. If you only download the app you can still use a tape measurer to measure how far you are standing from the building. The more accurate you are the better it will be. The DeWalt Mobile Pro has a lot to offer. The app is free, but you can add on many different features, like code books and different calculators for business, carpentry, concrete and more.
It has a lot to offer on the free app though, and convert's many different measurements to what you will need on the job site. It will even help you calculate things like how many studs you will need in a wall, and multiple walls at the same time. I have used it for figuring railing, stair stringers, walls and much more.
